FAQ

  • Physical therapy is a method of treatment for certain physical impairments, disabilities, and injuries. You can expect a thorough evaluation by a licensed physical therapist who will create an individualized plan of treatment for your specific diagnosis.

  • Frequency of attendance is dependent upon your diagnosis and your physician’s recommendation. A typical plan of care for physical therapy includes attendance two to three times a week. The duration of therapy can vary depending on several factors, including the nature and the severity of the condition, individual progress, and treatment goals. Some people attend for a few weeks, while others require several months. The therapist, in collaboration with the patient, determines the duration based on ongoing assessments and adjustments to the treatment plans. Consistency with prescribed exercises and active participation in the rehabilitation process often contribute to successful outcomes.

  • Appointments for physical therapy vary in length depending on your diagnosis and activity level. On average, a patient’s first visit lasts about an hour. For the initial visit, we typically ask patients to arrive 15 minutes early to sign-in and complete paperwork.

  • We recommend that you wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes – something you can exercise in. Tennis shoes are preferred. You may be asked to put on a gown for your initial evaluation.

  • During your first visit, your physical therapist will perform an initial evaluation and discuss your plan of care. The therapist uses this information to set goals for your treatment. It is on this first visit that the frequency and duration of subsequent appointments will be determined.

  • We work with most major insurance providers and will verify your benefits before your initial evaluation. We do NOT accept Molina, Priority Health Medicaid, or McLaren Medicaid. Call us with questions.

  • Every health insurance policy is different. When you make your first appointment with our office, we will ask for all your insurance information. As a courtesy to you, we will verify that your policy is active and whether you will have out of pocket costs due to your health insurance plan’s deductible, copay, or coinsurance for physical therapy services. Our office staff will go over this information the first day you come for your appointment. If you would like this information prior to making an appointment with our office, please call and let us know. We will collect payments every visit if applicable with your health insurance policy. We accept payments by cash, check, or credit card.

  • When Pure HealthyBack, formerly Dynamic Rehabilitation, was established in 1992, we wanted to be the BEST in spinal rehabilitation. By utilizing MedX™, the most sophisticated rehabilitative equipment in the world, our patient’s back and neck injuries are accurately evaluated and treated. This advanced equipment can effectively isolate, test and rehabilitate injured or weakened muscles of the spine unlike any other equipment. Not all spine patients are candidates for MedX™ and there is a high cost and training involved with the MedX technology. PHB is the only fully equipped MedX™ facility in the state of Michigan.

  • All our patients at PHB are discharged with a personalized home exercise program that includes exercises and activities aimed at maintaining and improving the strength, flexibility, and function of specific muscle groups and joints.

We do offer a wellness program for patients who complete the MedX™ rehabilitation program. This usually consists of exercising once a month on the MedX™ equipment. The visit is monitored by a physical therapist assistant and is not billable to your insurance company. We offer very affordable rates to continue utilizing the MedX™ upon discharge from active rehabilitation.
